is it true that the teeth will go back to their original position and if so, what can one do to prevent it?

No. That would defeat the point of wearing braces to begin with.

If you wear a retainer they won't move back... make sure you follow what your orthodontist reccomends the amount of time and frecuency you wear the retainer. After you get your braces off (at least in our office) we still visit with the patient for an additional 5 years after they get their braces off...

No, it is true that the teeth will try and shift back to the original position. You need to wear a ratainer at night for many years!

They can. I had braces and one of my teeth shifted. I had alot of wisom teeth pulled so I figuire I wont have it that bad. But my teacher in 7th grade had braces when younger and her teeth shifted really bad.

after removing braces they continue to move where ther is a little space, but not get back as they were

no not really well still u can wear ur retainer .
