Neither is right, but marrying a 16 year old can be legal if you get the parents permission. What country is Muslim? I thought that was a religon and culture.....???? You state, Muslim and American....why?

If those are the only two options....obviously, the Muslim marrying a 16-year old would be more acceptable. Although I can't imagine the 16-year old would be very happy marrying, what to her, would be an old man.
Rape is never acceptable by ANYONE, including an American.
It would be nice if you understood that our cultures agree on that point.

The pits of hell would be pleasant in comparison to the pain that the rapist should endure, that Muslim marrying a 16 year old girl not so much. In the United States things similar to that used to happen.

In my mind, a 16 year old girl is really a woman. But, most such weddings are not voluntary on the part of the girl, and so they amount to rape as well.
