I'm sorry you feel that way. I guess it didn't work out for you.

Try not to think of it as going down hill. Think if there are was you can have a future that looks bright or not. If you are already thinking that it is downhill from here. You are giving yourself no chance for a positive future for you two. So only marry if you think your future looks brighter. Don't marry if you think that the future looks dull.

It does depend on who you marry. Too many people rush into marriage without knowing the person or they marry someone just because they got them pregnant. Neither situation works out well. I lived with my man for 5 years before we got married. I know every thing there is to know about him.

My life only got better after marriage, but we had 4 years to discuss our expectations, our finances and a bunch of other things before we did it. (We were both in college and chose to wait till at least one of us had finished to marry)
Marriage is horrible from what I hear if you don't plan carefully, but absolute heaven with both parties working on it.
Most couples go through a disenchantment stage though... but if you both work through it, it can be wonderful.

It depends on whom you marry. For me, my life got better AFTER I was married.
