Not really. I gues in rare cases but over all no! The sad thing is that the tax payers have to pay for it.

By and large, no. A lot of criminals don't want rehabilitation. The living situation is against rehabilitation. And there aren't the funds, resources, energy, and may just plain old common sense smarts to do it.

Nope. Not a bit. More often than not, criminals who get out of prison go back to doing the same bad stuff they were doing before. Or worse. Bring on the death penalty! If they are proven guilty with out a shadow of a doubt, fry 'em. Make the executions public and maybe then the criminals will get a clue and realize they're not going to get away with their crimes.
Notice I said "proven guilty without a shadow of a doubt". Just to satisfy all the bleeding hearts out there who whine about the wrongfully accused who are incarcerated.

Rehabilitation rhetoric went out in the 1970's. Prison doesn't rehabilitate, it is merely for punishment.
Just like the death penalty. It has never been shown to deter crime

It deters the criminal activity of those while incarcerated, and thats good enough for me regardless of whether or not anything else changes.
The death penalty definetely rehabilitates a criminal, once executed he/she will never committ another crime.

Some yes, some no, and I think that hard core criminals should not be allowed privileges such as TVs, PC's, Laptops, and the use of exercise equipment... that would allow them to bulk up their bodies, thus making it easier to harm, and or kill guards and other inmates.
