The puppy stage is not all that far behind him, so he is probably hungry. Hopefully you feed him the right amount according to his breed, weight, and age. If he's barking all night, something is wrong. Either something/someone is outside or he wants something from you.

Why is food out for him at night? Dogs (esp. labs and other large breeds) should not be free-fed. He should have meal times twice a day where he gets his allotted ration of food and no more. Even better would be to give him all of his daily portion of food stuffed into Kongs so he has to work and burn off some of that lab energy to get it out.
If he's eating at night, that food is giving him energy and that energy is stimulating him to bark.

Is it possible for you to leave food out all the time for him? Is he barking from loneliness? Does he sleep in a separate room from the rest of the family?

I would make sure he isn't hungry or thirsty or has to go outside. Then try a rawhide chew toy. It kept my dog busy and mostly quiet so I could sleep. Good luck!

To start with I would take up the food before you go to bed.Give him a ticking clock where he sleeps. I've tried this , and it worked for me. Always make sure he has lots of water.

maybe u have ghosts in ur house. n he seems them. so he barks at them.
give him a toy to play so he can get distracted, also try to leave the radio (low). that way he wont feel lonely.

He's basically like a child who is throwing a temper tantrum to get what he wants. I know it's hard , but you have to give him NO attention when he's is doing this. As soon as he realizes he's not getting his way from this he'll quit.

Do you have another dog that could be eating his food? If not I would contact your vet.
