2000 ford windstar radio quit working i took it out to see if the unit has an external or internal fuse it does not checked all pertaining fuses in fuse block none blown i hooked it back up and it played for 30 sec. or so and quit and started popping thru the speakers is it the radio or another electrical problem?

the problem is the radio itself, almost certainly.
As James says the cost of a new Ford radio is much higher than an aftermarket radio, and you would get a much nicer set of features.
If you really want the factory radio you could try to get it fixed. Search the net for "Visteon authorized service center" to find someone to take it to. There are about 30 around the country. Know that you'll need to take the radio out yourself. Also realize repair cost on a factory radio is likely to be about the same as a new after market system from Best Buy or such, even with installation.

I am an Electronics Technition. Ford Has some really nice radios but the problem is that they put mosfet chips into the unit that has a low ratting witch means that if the stereo gets to hot or the stereo censes something wrong it will blow its own mosfet chip they are not cheap I assume that ford did this to make more money on the deal. I would put an aftermarket radio in your van it will be alot cheaper than replacing it with a new factory. Have Fun James

before you go blowning all your money on a new deck like the others said check your wireing going to the speakers or a power or ground wire that might be melted and might be touching and grounding out that is a more comon problem if that doesnt work sell the car and buy a chevy lol
