NO!!! Do it!! Defense yourself. He knows you are disabled and he is showing lack of respect, but please do it when other people are around. If you do it alone he might hurt you.

Yes, it is assault. And why stoop to that idiot's level? Be above him, and be polite but insistent the first time, but after that, notify the management and ask them to remove him from the property. There's no reason for anyone to put up with that kind of treatment. If you don't get a response from management, leave, then call all the media stations in town, and call the CEO of Hooters, and discuss it with him. If you get no resolution then you need to consider that's the kind of restaurant Hooter's is, and then decide if you want to go slumming by entering that establishment. At the very least I'd send an email to the manager of that Hooter's, and to the upper management to advise them of what happened in this instance. I'm sure they'll take immediate steps to correct it. Good Luck!

if you can, have a friend with you who isn't afraid to get in someone's face. I am not staying start a fight, but most often, when people are wanting to play around and can't take a hint, they back down if they know it's not fun-time anymore. Especially if he was drunk.

if you have to go back, or you ar ein that type of situation again. Don't be afraid to call for help, strangers can come to your aid if youare in trouble and don't be afraid to call them either, even if you are not being legally assulted, it doesn't matter if he's not hurting or even touching you, you have the right to feel comfotable and be happy in a public place.

Some people get out of line when they are drinking. It all depends on what his motives were. If they were with bad intent and you were going to be a victim of his obnoxiuos behavior then by all means give him all you've got. Knock him in the sack. If they were good intentions and he didn't come across as wanting to make you a victim then play it off as him just being too drunk to take a hint.

"Thankyou, I can see you are trying to be friendly and I appreciate you offering to help but at the moment I am doing just fine. I hope you have a nice evening"

If he is with friends, get them to call him off.

When a guy has had a few drinks, calling the management is a bit harsh, using intelligence to turn him around is much better, isn't it?

It's not assault. Be assertive and if he doesn't listen, go to the nearest service person and tell them who is bothering you and let them handle it. Part of their job is to make sure everyone has a good experience at their establishment.

In MY view it's self defence, the law looks at things different

yeah, unfortunately its still consisdered assault on your part.....disability in your case is not necessarily an exception to the law.....get a taser or mace and cry self defense

it can be considered assault any time you strike or even threaten another person. you abide by the same laws as us able bodied. be an adult and ask authorities for help. it's why we pay taxes.
