Just because he is a Muslim doesn't mean he expects everyone around him to be. Tell everyone to be respectful as they would any religous person or they would an elderly person. They just want to be respected and they will give you a ton of respect in return. They will definitey let you know if you have crossed the line.
The two/three/four wives thing, that's true but that is another story! :o)

If he's lived in this country for a long time, he should be used to all our words & traditions. On such a sad occasion don't worry about it, I'm sure he will be understanding of anything that is said. Have you thought, he might have the same question?

Has your dad never spoken to this man before?
My God, what is this world coming to?
Instead of worrying what words would insult the man, try having your dad think of words of comfort and support... as these are harder to say.
No matter what religon you are, death of a loved one is traumatic, so please rally around your Uncle and show him that is his family is there for him.
I am sorry that your Auntie has passed away and my sympathies are with you all, during this sad time.
God bless.

You only insult someone when you use words derogatorily. If you aren't out to deliberately insult a person then it shouldn't matter. I am so sick of all this politically correct crap. If you say some accidentally and they can't over look it. Well then move on you don't need them.

Speak to him as you normally would anyone else. Muslims rspect others faith and beleifs. If you say that you will prey to jesus for him, he will acceot that as you are not a Muslim and no one should expect you to act like one.
I am a muslim, if I was in that situation, I would expect youto be yourself with your good intention, I would take your condolences in the right manner as any human would.
Sorry for your loss.

I suppose it depends on what beliefs or things she is prone to say.
Many sincere pious Christian prayers and beliefs would be considered arrogant to a Moslem, but perhaps she may have another opinion. Calling God Father or saying He has a Son are the unforgivable sin of Islam. Oddly enough the same thing, the adoption, of enemies of God to become children of God is the center of salvation for Christians. Muslims also do not believe Jesus died on the cross as they do not believe a prophet would suffer humilation like that.
If she is a Christian she should be prepared to say things like, If God so chooses to become a man and be born in Bethlemhem how could I oppose Him
If she is a Christian she should be prepared to say things like it may be arrogant to call myself a daughter of God but should God choose to adopt me who am I to oppose Him
If she is a Christian she should be prepared to say things like my salvation rests in God's strength and power and mercy
not in frail human strength

Sweetie, there are even Christians that stop bothering with different Christians because their church teaches that the others church teaches some thing that is going adversarial to their beliefs. for instance, there are quite a number of Christian sects that evaluate the Catholic church as a cult and in no way Christian in any respect, etc. yet, genuinely, it really is as a lot because the fellow individual too. I genuinely have acquaintances that are of many faiths. all of us get alongside and love one yet another, yet, we do not communicate faith after we are jointly. We purely understand each others perception or unbelief, yet, no individual tries to rework the different. those you communicate of were in no way real acquaintances. they are the kind that ought to have chanced on some thing, some thing to judge about. do not worry about loosing them as acquaintances. They were in no way acquaintances in the first position.

My advice is to not get into a Religious discussion with him. Just indicate that his sister will be missed and that he had a brother's love for her and leave it at that. PEACE!
