We hear all the studies about how classically attractive people seem to be automatically given credit with positive traits compared to their less attractive counterparts. We also here the disturbing reports about institutional racism in police forces for example as revealed by the 'Secret Policeman' in GMP. Do you think the police do give therefore preferential treatment? I knew a girl who was very attractive but was acting out. When bar staff complained the police always seem to let her off or check if she was ok. It took quite a few call outs for the police to decide to take any complaints seriously and for her to be arrested. Predictably she also got off any charges in court and was served only with a bind over. Police are meant to be impartial but I too have found that women get treated a lot differently to males for a crime e.g. theft or being drunk ..this is my own observations and wanted to know others views on this and what if anything can help improve the situation

Interesting...I wonder if any studies have been carried out in the U.K on how police treat attractive/unattarctive, Upper/Middle/Working class people.

That is just the way of it. It is not just the UK, nor just the Police, it is all of Anglo society. It has been proved in studies time and again.

I Don't Treat Attractive People Differently. I Treat Them All The Same And Unfortunately Find A Lot Of Them Prove The Stereotype That They Are Feeling Themselves Way Too Much, But There Are Great Looking People Out There With Great Personalities. As For The Rest, I Consider Myself Extremely Unattractive And Have Better Looking Best Friends So I Feel Worse By Comparison And I'm Pretty Sure Feeling Unattractive Makes You Come Off Unattractive Too. Oh Well f*ck Shallow People.

Unfortunately if your female and looking like a model, flirt and massage the male ego then the world is yours for the taking.(Helena of Troy for instance)

No one is impartial and today's police are renowned for taking bribes, turning a blind eye or just dismissing everything it is more than their jobs are worth.
I have no faith in law at all anymore and really believe you can get away with murder if your credentials match the attractive list, woman that look good can manipulate and send out signals using body language in order to be let off the misdemeanour.

So all the normal law abiding people get pushed away something in society is missing as it has already been pr oven.

No i think they are not fussy they just treat everyone badly. The police think they are beyond the law themselves and many a time i have seen them speeding (and no they were not attending a call or chasing anyone) and they get away with it. I was recently pulled over by the police and they could not even give me an explanation for pulling me over. They gave me some rubbish about i looked like i was trying to avoid them and i had only been to the shops to get nappies! I was on a roundabout for goodness sake!! I think they were doing it for a laugh!!

It goes beyond this. Intelligent, well spoken criminals have a 68 percent chance of escaping justice than do those who are intellectually challenged. I have seen Justice dispensed by judges who smiled continuously at a defendant who was beautiful, that justice was an acquittal, much to the surprise of all, but Chester the Molester, (The judge) I've seen ESN youths sent to prison, not so much for their crime, but more to do with the fact that they dressed, spoke and acted poorly. A wiser more inteligent criminal, with a suedo upper class accent and a suit, has far more chance of escaping justice.

You are describing human nature. This happens worldwide, in all walks of life, and is not the sole province of the Police. Either get used to it, or change species!

Studies have shown that, so it's not just a UK phenomenon

This is human nature and except for the rare bird who is totally objective, subjectivity is involved in all human relations.
