Stop at Solvang. Lovely little Dutch town, very touristy, but has some fantastic restaurants. Also think about the Winchester House. I'm not sure of the name of the town, but it's fascinating. Monterey is there, San Luis Obispo is there, etc. In fact, Rachael Ray (foodnetwork.com) just did an episode following that same route for her Tasty Travels show last night...I suggest going to foodnetwork.com and looking for that show, some of the restaurants looked really yummy! =) Have fun, and I hope you are going by convertable!
