We had to go on daylight saving time this last spring and I had to start going to work in the dark again and it is still daylight at 9:30. I hate it.

I completely understand! Daylight savings is crap. The sun comes up too late and goes down too late. ANd you're right...noone benefits from it...maybe if you work in a mine :s

I was born in a small farming community and I was always told that Daylight savings time helped the farmers to get their crops in on time, because they could work longer in the evening.

It was meant to give factory workers (and other blue collars) time with their families during daylight hours, so they could picnic in the park or whatever...by the way, that's hilarious about the golfers, I never thought of that...
