Mark,
Here is a view of Wisdom you may not have seen. In more than one place in the scriptures, Wisdom is portrayed as a living, intelligent being. It says that Wisdom was with God at the time He created the universe. Read Proverbs 1 20-33. I believe that there is a Spirit of Wisdom, operating on our behalf in the realms of spirit. It says that if we seek Her, she will give us Her wisdom, and guide us in our darkness. Some might say that this is taking God's place in our lives. If you are familiar with scripture at all, you know that God has many spirit beings who do His bidding for Him. Wisdom is no different. She is waiting for us to call on her. It is Her job, to give Her wisdom to us, and She delights in doing so. I have come to know Her, and I am very glad I did.

Wisdom is knowing that one really does not know much. There is too much to know and not enough time to learn it in. Wisdom is applying your knowledge in a manner that will benefit and not harm others. Wisdom is knowing how to apply your knowledge in order to change a situation and make it better but it's also realizing that it may not be time to change the situation...and waiting for a better time. Wisdom is keeping an open mind...wisdom may be found within places we'd previously overlooked. Wisdom is the realization that everyone has some type of knowledge we may one day need...be ready to tap in to the hobo across the street who may help you change your tire one day.

Wisdom is rare and complex. I think part of it is the ability to see a problem or situation through to it's logical conclusion. That includes all the pit-stops and bumps along the way.

Well I can explain intelligence this way:
A stupid person keeps doing the same things that fail and expecting a different outcome and does not learn from their mistakes.
A smart person makes mistakes but gains a lesson from them and does not repeat them.
A very smart person sees others doing stupid things and learns from their mistakes and does not make them in his own life.
This is the person we should strive to be.

Experience! Mixed with common sense, I suppose. It's usually in old people, because they've got the most experience, and the best perspective.

wisdom is realizing you know nothing.
there is far too much in this universe to comprehend, and no one can know even a small amount of it.
