well either this is spyware or an important folder in WINDOWS was deleted
first i would run a spyware scan with counterspy free trial from download.com
also run a scan with mcafee viruscan free trial from download.com

if that doesnt work i would reinstall your operating system or download linux on a cd and use that as your operating system

also if you put your windows disk in and reboot it will give you a choice to install windows again which i would do if try to repair below it doesnt work

good luck!!

DId you make an emergency repair disk? If so you do not need to go into console mode you can do an automatic repair. If you cannot do this. The console mode is so that you can copy the files you need from the cd. I would reccomend reinstalling windows xp to an alternative directory then creating a repair disk and repairing the first installation of the OS then you can go back and remove the second installation

You may be facing the problems if you are using the pirated version of XP. I advise you to call a tech guy and reinstall the xp. You may have deleted any of the system folders or files. You should be careful before deleting any stuff.

Is there more of a message? It is hard to tell what is wrong based on that. If you have that much trouble you may need to reinstall the OS. If you have a lot of data you don't want to use you can do a parallel installation but if you don't care about anything on there I would do a clean install. The site below explains each option and how to do it. Good luck.

You are using a pirate copy and you want us to help??--If you have the original disc, it will ask you for your registration codes, and if you cannot give them then you need to start talking to your close freinds,-as you are not getting mine.--Oh and by the way,--you have been behind the way for so long now,--you wouldnt know what its like to be up to date with windows xp.

Type "Help" (without the "") and a list of commands will be displayed.
You will probably want to do a Chkdsk (Check Disk) to find any errors.

you must be part of a network where someone has given you a work password and account, but someone somewhere has an adminstrator password and ID for your PC. whether this is an older PC that someone else gave you, you need to find out that password, etc. before you can use it.
