In todays age and time war has nothing to do with any current situation at that time. Run up to any war is always prepared by people who benefit from it. In any given war of todays times some one somewhere is making a lot of money. Be it the Arms manufacturers or govts who have their personal interests in it. For example when US invaded Afghanistan they bombed the shanty dwellings of poor afghans with with million dollar missiles situated in the arabean sea. Does it give any logic No. They invaded Iraq when they knew there where no WMD"s over there. Russia was holding afghanistan for no purpose at all they spent miilions of dollars and then they backed out of it. Dont you think there is a solution to Arab Israeli conflict ofcourse there is but they will never let it happen cos if they do the moolah stops there.Dont you think there is a solution to to all the disputes through out the world ofcourse there is if they really want to.It is very difficult for a common man to analyse what goes on behind the govt walls. so they play around with peoples minds and create a kind of illusion that whatever they are doing is for the good of humanity but what they fail to realise is that they are killing the same humans they are going to save,
There is no significance of War No war in the history of modern word can be justified. There were times when there were invasionns of rouge kings which had to be resisted But in modern world its all about money.

A nation without a military is at the whim of despots and empires. They will find their peoples cast out, their temples destroyed, their way of life eradicated. History has proven this point time and time again. Consider, for example, the situation of the Jews, who had no homeland for 19 centuries, after the destruction of the Temple under the Romans. Their banishment (Diaspora) did not end until the last century, with the birth of the nation of Israel. Now, they have a very strong military.

there's an old saying " if you want peace prepare for war". countries that are unable to defend themselves are soon overrun and enslaved. read your history. there is a natural level of military preparation any country needs and it is different for every one. up to the point a military can be considered defensive and past that point it becomes offensive and may be a danger to other countries. where that point is depends on many factors including size, areas of interest, threats faced, treaty obligations, trade routes, and others. for example the old USSR was a land power that had no real need for a blue water navy since it was not dependent upon sea trade for its needs. when it insisted on having a large open ocean inavy it was clear that it was intended for attacking the trade and sea lanes of the western powers. the west had large navies also but they needed them to protect vital sea lanes since their trade was mostly ship born. hence their navies were defensive.

Most countries invest in armed forces because there is the realization that no one will ever think alike and that one must always be prepared for anything. While most desire peace there are those who desire otherwise (terrorists for example). So the only recourse other than complete surrender to these evil minorities is to arm yourselves for defence.

For self-defense and for defense of other innocents around the world.

Without military capability, one becomes a helpless victim to armed imperialistic countries.

War is a means of causing or preventing change.

It is simply another tool for getting something done.
