I remember in our class that the brown mud in Yangtze river are minerals that help Chinese farmers for more nutririous crops. But because Yangtze is always flooded, frequently in the monsoon months, these mud flow out from the reiverbed and scatters to the whole Yangtze. If I'm not mistaken...
