Ibuprofen is not for exhaustion. It is an anti-inflammatory/fever reducer/pain reliever.

Ibuprophen, like aspirin, interferes with the production of chemicals in the body that transmit pain. They also inhibit production of other chemicals in the body that help control blood sugar and insulin production. So for a while, blood sugar may stay in your system longer, allowing you more energy.

When the ibuprofen wears off, then - if you have a low blood sugar condition (which may account for why you are exhausted), it comes back.

Suggestion: Before you go to bed tonight, like about 30 minutes before, eat a small snack. I suggest 1-2 oz of turkey (triptophan - spelling approximate) or 2 eggs, a cracker or a cookie, or if you are concerned about your weight - a low glycemic carbohydrate (apple, berries) and some nuts - almonds or peanuts are best. This is a recipe for some slow burning energy that will help level your blood sugar out for the night.

If this helps you get a good night sleep and you awake refreshed, you may want to check out www.hufa.org for more info on low blood sugar, its causes and things you can do about it, especially the symptoms link, because you may be experiencing other symptoms that you don't know are possibly due to low blood sugar.

No, it does not. If anything, it would have the opposite effect. It is an analgesic (pain killer). It has aspirin as on of it's ingredients. This makes it an anticoagulant (blood thinner) which, if taken in to high a quantity, can lower your blood pressure to dangerous levels. If you need energy, drink a cup of tea or coffee (green tea is best) or have something that is high in protein.

it can't. but some aspirin, like Excedrin has a bit of caffeine in it and that gives you a bit of energy. but be carefull because caffeine is a diuretic. don't drink cokes when you're sick anyway.
