Society has a lot to answer for.
Give me back my feral youth anyday! If it were not for the responsibilities I have accumulated from living in society, I would GLADLY return to the wild...pesky humans!

It's a faulty use of logic to conclude that since 75% of the answers on Y!A are negative than 75% of the world is giving up. Y!A is a microcosm, an artificial world of anonymous alter egos. This place doesn't really exist like the world does, nor behaves within norms of a regular society.
Yes, there are negative answers, but only because there are flamebaited negative questions. Some of it's crude. Some of it's rude. Some of it's entertaining. Occasionally, you might even learn a thing or two. Just keep in mind most of this (Y!A) is not even remotely real. The answers you read could be coming from a 14 year-old with parents that teach hate, or a 96 year-old who has the wisdom of the world behind her. And there's everything in between-Imposters, political nuts, the mentally disturbed, the clinically depressed, Oprah intellectuals, religious non-reasoners, ultra logics, and a few people's pets that I'm convinced have learned how to use a computer.
Don't sweat it.

The only thing I can say on the subject of giving up on love and relationships is.....when you're in a relationship that's making you compromise yourself and your values you need to leave the relationship. A relationship is between two mature adults who value and respect each other and if either doesn't it's not a relationship. As far as love goes....it doesn't hurt and cause you pain...if it does it's not love. I think most people are finally getting this understanding maybe that's why to you is seems negative.
I totally believe in both love & relationships because for the past 31 years I've been in a good one.

Don't you find that people are more likely to complain than they are likely to say something is wonderful? It's just human nature. There's nothing scientific about who chooses to post answers here or why they'd tend to be negative, so it's not giving an accurate picture, I don't think. In older times, remember, there was nothing like Yahoo Answers--in those times you took your troubles to people who knew you and were less likely to only focus on the negative. What I'm saying is, I don't think people have basically changed--the modes of communicating have.

Humans are crushed by the systems that surround them, whether they are systems they want or systems forced on them.
Institutions such as religion and government spend their whole existence telling people what to do. This is bad, that is good, if you do this everyone will love you, if you think that everyone will call you a terrorist.
These institutions limit human potential. They create a false 'society' that attempts to force everyone to act and think the same way.
At the same time there are rival factions within this context. There's the obvious Islamic Theocracy vs. Western Capitalism fight. But there are more subtle ones as well. Technophobia vs. an onslaught of new technology, Religious Belief vs Scientific Atheism, etc. etc.
If you want to know why people are miserable, look no further than your nearest human institution. If you want to avoid this grinding oppression, avoid anyone who calls himself a 'reformer'.

Not many people feel good about themselves and the devil is also at work making people feel bad even about other people. The kicks of a dying horse are sometimes quite powerful but shortly after is goes. Pray without ceasing for that is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Life is just a drop in the ocean of the actual living.

if we were to get back to the bible and really read it we would be the world we hoped.because that is were the world started to go to hell in a hand basket when bible study was taken from our schools back in 62 and if the media actually had good news for a change, but the idiots always focus on the bad news the only thing remotely positive is the weather cause the media figure fear sells better.

No, you aren't the only person noticing. In my honest opinion, it's because these people who are negative have never given their life to Jesus. I know you're thinking 'Why should I GIVE UP' my life. But when you think about it, Jesus gave up his through the most excrutiating pain imaginable FOR US! He did that to give us EVERY chance in life to be happy. I can't tell you how overcome with joy I was when I gave my life. I really wish that people would just STOP and just THINK about what Christ did for them. THen maybe they wouldn't be so selfish.

I agree, People have gotten to the point that they no longer care. I partially blame the media and different multi-media platforms for steering people toward destructive ends. I think it is the people of the world working to usher in the rapture.
