It isn't bad to be a virgin. There isn't a time limit that is placed on any of us that says we have to lose our virginity by a certain age. Society itself puts pressure on us to have sex before marriage and outside of marriage.

The Bible teaches us a lot about sex. The do's and the don'ts of sex. The main thing is to remain a virgin and pure until you are married. And once you are married, stay true to your spouse and not have affairs outside of marriage.

The Bible does explain who will NOT inherit the Kingdom of God in 1 Chorinthians 6:9-10, "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

Although I haven't watched that movie, apparently the people who wrote that show weren't of the Christian faith. Hollywood has a way of making up stories to sell movies.
Just stay true to yourself and to God.

The Bible also says in 1 John 1:9, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

If you do sin, just ask God to forgive you. He will.

Not having sex before marriage doesn't make you immature or "not grown up." It doesn't make all the people who *do* have sex before marriage immature either. It's just a matter of one's personal philosophies, and my morals are influenced by Catholic Christianity. I have been taught, by my own parents, that sex before marriage leads to more complications than it would afterwards. I could get pregnant, and my whole life would get thrown away -- I could get hurt, mistaking sex for love -- and I could get STDs despite all the protection they offer these days. To me, sex is the highest expression of love for my partner -- and I want to save such an important declaration for when I really know that my partner loves me as much as I love him -- after marriage.

As for being written in the bible, here's an extensive answer to that part of your question: http://www.biblestudy.org/question/presex.html.

People are gonna be shy about admitting that they're virgins, I would imagine, because it's not the norm in society -- the large majority has sex because it's fun, not because it shows love. It's always awkward to admit that you're not going along society's general guidelines, because most people have tried for a long time to make sure that they don't stand out as "different" and unacceptable.

The title of this movie and the storyline fascinated me, amused me and disgusted me all at the same time. Nowadays, because of the prevalence and pervasiveness of sex, it is somehow a joke, at the very least of it, and a sin at the very worst of it, if one is a 40 year old virgin. Especially a 40 year old male virgin.

But that's the wisdom of the world - which the Bible calls foolishness with God. In the wisdom of the world, it is better to be a man who has been sexually promiscuous than to be a man who is chaste and in full control of his sexual desires.

The Bible however commands both males and females to remain virgins until their marriage. And it holds chasteness in high esteem. The world makes a joke out of it.

King James did not write the Bible! He lived in the 1600's. All he did replaced into have a sparkling version commissioned. The bible has no individual particular author. it really is a decision of books written from about 1200 bc to 70ad. The Catholic church screened numerous books and keen to positioned each of those that make the bible jointly in a unmarried e book. as to no matter if King James himself replaced into gay? i'd not doubt it. look what number individuals of both the clergy and politicians are gay now!

The premise of that movie has a lot to do with popular culture, and definitely NOT with religion.

For some odd reason, there's still a social pressure for people to lose their virginity by a youthful age, less they be labelled someone who is culturally less than desireable.

Which totally counters the Christian ideal that sex should be saved exclusively for the marriage union.

NO, absolutely not. Talk to your pastor about this, I would to get the correct info. And remember this, movies are just that, most are fiction, and only a movie. Entertainment. You are more likely to be more grown up to NOT believe this. Make good choices. And never feel pressured into having sex. That movie was just all about making money and entertainment.

I think society tends to mock others when they dont fit into a mainstream ideology (ie the way society thinks you should be and behave and dress etc) so when people grow up and dont behave the way 99% of the popuation does, society thinks there is something wrong with them, and in turn, they curl up in a ball and dont show themselves for 40 years...

Assuming that this question is a sarcastic one, I have this to say:

Well, u know what the bible says. In these days, "what's bad is good, and what's good is bad". God tells us in the bible that fornication, premarital sex, is a sin. "Fornicators...will not inherit the kingdom of God...".- 1Corinth. 6:9. But people who claim to be observing God, are a slave to this snare of promiscuous sex.

The Christian standard for sexual activity (like Islam) is, within the confines of marriage. The social standard for sexual activity is different through out the world.
