It's a kind of transference thing, the homophobe is peeved and he likes to think his God would be as peeeved as he is so he just uses God as a disguise and a mouthpiece for his own peeved prejudices ... God then get's a bad reputation!

Yeah, it's not restricted to homophobia though, it's a fundamental (I use the word advisedly) misunderstanding of the whole "God made man in his own image" line. Some people take this literally and personally, to mean that they, personally, are the template for God's perfect creation. Backed up with the literature written by people who...well, pretty much thought the same thing...these people invert the equation, and essentially make God in their own image. If they think something is "abominable" (Hey there Mainworry, nice to have you here and thanks for playing), it becomes an abomination to God, be it homosexualiy or a woman's right to choose...just about anything, come to think of it, or the belief that we all evolved from simpler organisms, or that the world's just a tad more than 6,000 years old ("And I would have got away with it too, if it hadn't been for you pesky dinosaurs!"). All abominations to the god that these people believe in. So yeah, they're actually doing a disservice to God by pushing their hatreds onto It. I have this image of God checking through the Bible, going "What??? I never said that! Oi, Holy Spirit - check out the microphone before we go talking to prophets again will ya? I said Original FUN, not SIN...don't even know what sin is, come to that. Oh good grief...Where did this come from? 'It is an abomination unto God to dress in purple on a Thursday'?? They're making this stuff up as they go along now!..."

As a person, I do not mind gay or homo. They can do what they like.

But as a bible believer, I understand from the God's Word that Homo is wrong, just like any other sin, need to be repent and sin no more.

What about the Homophobe? I do not know. All I know is, Homo is wrong, and continue to perform that sinful act and still attend church will not help. Careful, you may burn in hell.

Too true, so many people claim whatever they wish, using God as their backup.

Unfortunately, even those who teach more loving, knidly things are accused as such, for perverting the word of God to mean something more soft and cuddly than it should.

Everyone is going to have their own interpretation of things, and those interpretations are going to be tainted by their heart, be it too pure and loving or too the opposite. We shall never know the full and honest truth until we die, I suppose.

please do remember, a homophobe might just have a soul, so please don't be mean to them just because they are mean to you. God sees them for what they are and will deal with them accordingly.

a homophobe is full of hate towards God's lovely gay children because he was not given any sense of fashion; he is limited to wal-mart, k-mart, and quick mart for all his shopping needs. wouldn't you be mad, period, if those are your only options in life because God had limited your imagination. i would think so! so please, try to understand homophobes. they have so much pain within and are to be pitied.

Homophobe, intolerance, all terms used to promote spiritual destruction. Terms which are wicked spinnings of poison in our society.

The gay lifestyle is an abomination to God. This means it’s disgusting an abhorrence, a feeling of repugnance or loathing.

Those who promote this lifestyle have a darkened heart and have become fools by their own perverted mind. Their acts are a disgrace of vile affections doing unseemly passions of infamy. Vain in their imaginations they are morally wicked. They defile themselves through the lusts of their own hearts. It’s indecency, dishonour, and unclean.

But they can’t reserve this life style or death style to themselves, they want to destroy others by promoting it. They want special rights and ungodly unions recognized as marriage.

Most people could be tolerant as long as this vile death style was not so public. But by promoting this abomination it is impossible to be tolerant, unless you are deceived. Because this would be tolerance of destroying of souls and destruction of our society. Being blinded into acceptance of this repugnant death style will cease God’s blessings.

Now everyone is a sinner and falls short. Christ has set us free from the bondage of sin. Upon repentance we are forgiven. Our sins can be blotted out no more to be remembered. That’s the whole purpose of this flesh life. To defeat Satan (death) legally and to offer salvation to whomsoever.
