It's unfortunate that something like this has happened to yourself and your family and my thoughts are with you.

There are a wide range of problems young babies can endure, depending on several factors, like was the baby premature or related illnesses within the family.

I would consult with the resident doctor to see if some answers could come to light regarding sympthoms.

I would also look towards a support group because I feel that all of your family may benefit from some assistance to come to terms with your loss.

I'm so sorry to hear that.............

He could've died from Idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis

It is a rare pediatric disease characterized by repeated episodes of bleeding into the lungs. The body is able to remove most of the blood from the lungs, but a large amount of iron is often left behind. Over time, this iron, called hemosiderin, can cause permanent damage to the lungs, or death.

Sorry

there are this style of large style of theories on sids, and how children die from it. First they say blankets and by no skill to sleep them on their stomachs. Then some children in basic terms overlook to breath so that they say a pacifier helps with that because they preserve sucking and blankets also. it really is so unhappy and they are somewhat attempting to make people attentive to sids as a lot as plausible. Sorry on your loss.

it may have been a birth defect if he was that young. did his mother use drugs or alcohol or cigarettes when she was pregnant? did they mention that bleeding disease that is recessive (i forget the name of it, the slang name is the Kings Disease, which causes uncontrollable bleeding, maybe hemophillia?)
no chance of child abuse?
was he dropped by accident?
bleeding of the lungs has to be some sort of birth defect, recessive disease, or product of trauma (usually punctured lung)

i am very sorry to hear of your loss. please browse around for support groups for people who have lost children. my thoughts are with you.

Get an autopsy done.

Hang in there, everything happens for a reason.
