What should I do about my colleague?

Question

She sits opposite me and won't shut up about Spiral from Big Brother. I think she is seriously obsessed and it's getting to be very annoying, especially as much of the talk is sexual. What can I do to get her to shut up? And she's about 45 years old.

Get a big old chocolate eclair and stick it in her bloody cake hole. Is she mad, Spiral?? Really?? Alternatively, tell a big old tale on her to the supervisor/boss person and get her sacked.

When she starts to talk, I would say "I'm sorry, I'm pretty bogged down with work here, could we save this conversation for lunch?". If she starts again with something sexual, I would tell her, "It's not a big deal to me, but somebody who heard that could report you to the boss for creating a hostile work environment/sexual harassment, and I would just hate to see you get in trouble. Could we tone the conversation down a little?" Then, if she doesn't shut up, report her for creating a hostile work environment/sexual harassment. When she says something about it, you can say, "Oh, I was afraid that would happen". Or simply ask your boss if you can move to a different part of the building.

Can you put some music on through headphones? If so, whack on your iPod, Yahoo Radio or whatever and tune her out! Failing that, keep your head down and everytime she speaks, sigh and look up and say 'sorry, Im busy, what was that?' She'll get the hint eventually!!

Tell her that she is looking, acting and sounding like Lea from BIg Brother. Mutton dressed as lamb and so desperate. He is young and she is old enough to be his mother. And on top of she has no taste either.

I agree with lavendercountrygirl - get all the people you know to vote him out, she will not see him and as they say out of site out of mind.

Have you tried telling her that you're uncomfortable hearing her comments and asking her to refrain from making them while in the work area? Another thing to consider: would her behaviour fit the definition of unwanted sexual advances?

tell your supervisor that she is disrupting your work environment.
thats a sticky situation especially if she has seniority over you.
then again she gets paid more the nyou assuming you are younger and getting rid of her would save the company money while you can do her job at less cost.
