Well, it wasn't funny at the moment but looking back it is. Yesterday my long driveway was obstructed and I had someone coming to look at the kittens I found in the woods the other day. I decided to go ahead and wrap the two kittens in a blanket and take off down our black top drive. Everything was going fine until my 5 year old let my almost 2 year old out of the house. She didn't have shoes on and was screaming Ow! Ow! Ow! with every step she took toward me. This caused a scene and my dogs came running toward us. My daughter wanted me to hold her to get her off the hot pavement. I couldn't. I was holding the two squirmy kittens and the dogs were approaching. I was trying to hold on to the kittens and save my daughter's burning feet by getting her onto the grass. I guess that wasn't good enough for my little girl. She started pulling on my legs and THE BLANKET. The kittens were trying everything to get out of my arms but I knew if they did they would be an afternoon snack so I held on with everything I had. One of the kittens bit me twice. I'm not talking about a little nip. It got me good!!! But, I still held on, hair flapping in my face, sweating and trying to shake a little one off my leg. While this was going on the nice woman who was really interested over the phone inquiring about a kitten pulled up. I was a mess! I had bleeding scratches and bite marks. I tried to smile but I don't think it showed on my face. The woman got out of her car and stood there for about 5 minutes while I suffered and pretended like nothing was wrong. I talked with her about her daughters softball team. Her softball team? I was in severe pain and antisipating more the longer I stood there. But, I didn't complain. Then the woman decided she didn't want one. I will never again attemt to take a cat outside again without another adult. :) I hope someone has learned from this and also had a good laugh. My nephew who had been watching out the window but didn't come to help his Aunt Nanny told the story to others later and everyone was cracking up. What a day....
