Eating grass seems to be a normal behavior for dogs even though we tend to think that their diet should consist of other things. There have been a number of studies done trying to link grass eating with illness, vitamin or mineral deficiencies, lack of roughage in the diet and other things --- all without producing a strong correlation to any particular problem.

For dogs grass is an antacid which they eat when they have an upset stomach. It is natural and also a good indicator of when they are sick. If a dog is eating grass but not eating his favorite food he is probably sick and needs to see a vet. Don't stop the grass eating just watch his other behavior. Good luck

Before you stop your dog from eating grass, call a vet, search the Internet to find out why dogs eat grass.

You can stop your dog eating grass by giving it a balanced diet and taking it to see the vet when he is ill like now

The dog eats grass because it has an upset stomach and it settles in the stomach and they barf up what ever they ate that made them feel not so good.

I wondered the same thing but I asked my vet and he said that dogs will do that when they feel ill and eating grass makes them feel better. He said it's perfectly okay.

I don't know, but my dog mysteriously started eating grass just before he died.

I don't know if he was sick from something and trying to eat grass to cure himself. Or if the grass killed him.

You can't. They eat grass when thier stomachs are upset...it helps to settle thier stomachs. It's no big deal really. All dogs do this at one time or another.
