Please guide me about the procedure of working on Tally 4.5 in Windows XP SP-2

YOU CANT USE TALLY4.5 IN XP . IT WORK ONLY UPTO WINDOWS98

To open an MS-DOS program from a command prompt window
Open the Command Prompt window.
Type the name of the installed MS-DOS-based program you want to open, and then press ENTER. Or, change to the directory where the program is located and type its name there.
Notes

To open a command prompt, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
To switch between a full screen and a window, press ALT+ENTER. Type command to start the dos program.
To quit a command prompt session, type exit at the blinking cursor in the command prompt window.

try this

after switching on your computer start pressing F8 (Function Key 8) it will lead to select boot preferences there u select boot in dos mode or command prompt. then u can work on tally over there

u should use tally 6.3 its best & easy to use sorry i dont know about tally 4.5
