lol...love your question...eggs can be pickled in many types of juice...you boil an egg and then place it in beet juice, vinegar, pickle juice...it just depends on which taste you prefer..and the beet juice turns the eggs pink...lol

I feel bad for you because you have never tasted a pickled egg, which means you probably have never tasted a true "hot sausage", pickled pig's feet, true "souse", etc. Some of Florida's specialties. You probably have never had a drink straight from a cold green coconut, a guava pastry, or a crouqette. Anyway, pickled eggs are sold by the bottle here. They are hard boiled eggs that have been in a hot sauce and vinegar mixture so long that they are cooked a little more by the pickling process and are pink. Some people take "hot sausage" jars once they have eaten all of the hot sausages and boil their own eggs, peel them carefully and put the eggs in the jar and once they have turned almost red they are ready to eat

If you want to do this easy and cheaply just visit your local convenience store and ask them for the empty Pickle Jars with the left over juice. they throw the jars and juice away when the pickles are gone. This makes everything all ready for you to just put in your eggs.
BTW the jars are excellent to use for storage (especially in the south) for food stuffs (crackers, sugar, pasta, flour, cornmeal anything that the bugs can get to or the humidity can make soft.) I store Kraft mac in them with the cheese packets in another. Just cut the mac label and instructions out and tape to jar. Measure how much macaroni is in one box and annotate. i also use the jars to store all those little packets of stuff they give you at the fast food.

i flow to declare, people who've on no account had one and have faith that pickling makes each thing delicious yet are regrettably improper. Did you attempt one at present and then had to combat the urge to vomit for sort of an hour and a one million/2? it fairly is the question I asked myself after attempting to consume a pickled egg as quickly as.

It is as it sounds... an egg that has been pickled.
They are hard boiled, then preserved in vinegar, pretty much the same as a pickled onion.
I suppose the idea is that they last much longer in this state, but god they taste nasty...

its Italian, you hard boil the egg and peel it.,thenn stick all the eggs in a jar of vinegar-(preserve). its a bit primative,as we do not need to do this right now??--but who knows;?--we may need to go back to pickled eggs one day-----chickens only lay realy good at a certain time of the year. However, due to our smarter way of keeping them totaly confused,--they now lay all the time.--but crap eggs as they are artificialy produced.
