Most of us try to diet and they don't work for us. Most of us are plagued by bad genetics. Also, after you get so big, its very hard to excercise becauseits actually painful, not to mention hard to breathe.

Remember when we were all kids, and so many of us laughed and made fun of others?

Then, adults stepped in, and told us it was bad manners?

Well, somehow, not only were heavy people exempted from this forgiveness, but, since the Granola Girls took over, to mock and sneer at heavy people actually gains you points, as it makes you look as if you have Health Consciousness.

I say, smack 'em. Heartless bastards.

Because society is really messed up.

I was 192 pounds at 5"3 last Christmas, and everyone stared at me a ton. Some even commented on my weight. Large frame size, slow metabolism, tons of past pot bellies in my family..I got it all. It would be impossible to ever have a 24" waist like the popular girls. Unless people like to see ribs sticking out so much you can count them. Oh wait, that IS in now, isn't it? Arg, crazy media.

I had one friend, Rachel. She's a skinny person everyone could learn from. She'd been my friend for a long time and NEVER once commented on my weight. Rachel wasn't embarassed that I was her friend, either.

The people commenting on other being fat have mostly never experienced it. Most are people with small frames, fast metabolsms, and junk food in their cabnit. It's really hard to understand what the "fat" guys go through, especially when you can stuff your face with horrible food and not gain an ounce. Others are health freaks or P.E. teachers that just want to help instead of break your confidence.

I have lost weight since then by my own choosing. I'm now 5"6 and 131 pounds, really muscular, and people are now looking at me again. This time they comment on how thin I am, not in a good way, either.

I don't see why people have to comment on weight. If they didn't comment so much, we wouldn't have so many eating disorders in teens. We wouldn't have suicide and cutting as much, either. Lets also throw in the fact that many teens are depressed because of their weight and what everyone thinks of it. Society is destroying society.

Anyway, if you are looking to lose weight for YOU, try the below stuff. It's what I did, and it wasn't hard to start on, either. You don't have to do everything food-wise right away, though. I didn't and I still lost 60 pounds in 6 months.

Do not make a high goal, first of all. It's a health risk to lose more than 3 pounds a week. Besides, that much in a week would probably be water weight, which comes right back.

Try taking a walk for 30 minutes a day, adding 10 minutes each week. Once you get up to an hour long walk, start biking or running for 20 minutes a day, adding on minutes once again. By the time you are biking for an hour a day, just keep at it and you'll keep losing.

Remember to EAT YOUR BREAKFAST. Eating Breakfast will reduce your hunger and increase your energy throughtout the day. You should have a large breakfast, smaller lunch, and light dinner. Or you can have multiple small meals throughout the day. Avoid snacking at night, and when you really want junk food, eat a half serving and substitute the other half with a fruit or veggie. Make sure you drink water too, it's helpful in losing weight faster. Be sure to lay off soda...it's high in cals.

Best wishies, and pay no mind to the misunderstanders!:)

I really hate it when fat people complain about being fat - it's your own fault! You can just as easily as anyone else loose weight, by loosing the unhealthy junk food from your daily meals. Exercise more! Buy some books and read about loosing weight on the net instead of going to McDonald's! You don't have to exercise like a maniac; you could start by going on short walks. Saying that it hurts is no excuse, people fatter then you have lost their weight. If nothing else works, by a Michael Thurmond book and you can be sure to loose weight! Don't do any low carb diet since it starves the brain cells and the rest of your body for that matter. Eating less calories is also not good, just leave out the salt, fat and sugar from your meals and you'll get slimmer in no time!

I agree with what one of the other girls said. People are just cruel in general, b/c like her when I was overweight from having my third kid people were mean. Now that I'm back down to my normal size, which is quite petite, people are still incredibly mean.

I'm sorry to hear nothing's worked for you. But don't give up, b/c when the physical problems start is when you need to be the most concerned. Try just walking at first. Just a little bit each day until you can work up to more. I swear to you, I have a neighbor who has lost over 100 lbs doing this. Monitor your calories, activity level, etc. (www.mypyramid.gov) Check with a health care professional. Start small & work your way up. You can do it. & for hope... this gentleman lost his weight in under a year. Don't give up.
Hope that helps.

Being fat isn't just about appearance, it is mentality. Other people don't understand the mental battle. They think what is simple for them is simple for everyone, they haven't any blocks in their mind, they haven't the feelings to struggle with or the sense of self sabotage to battle with. Habits can be excruciatingly paralysing. All you can do is focus not on the moment but making the future into what you want it to be. Have clear goals and see only them. Try to keep a clear mind and a positive attitude and surround yourself with people who encourage not discourage you.

Most people think fat is ugly. But fat can be beautiful too ( but just dont be too overweight ). The most important thing is that you are healthy. Sometimes, bigger people are healthier than skinny one. Fat means u get enough nutrition. Skinny means u have nothing in your body!

That's why and when you do need to exercise. Do anything; just get moving.
If it's painful, try swimming.

They don't understand what it's like and often don't understand why someone's fat.
