Try contacting the Migraine Action Association (http://www.migraine.org.uk/). If there are any affiliated groups in the North of England, they should be able to tell you where they are.

I know that there are groups in Liverpool, in the north east, North Staffordshire and South East Cheshire, and in Yorkshire.

Contact me for more details.

Don't rely on family doctors. Their knowledge and understanding is, in my experience, very limited.

There are also several hospitals that concern themselves with migraine that you could contact through your GP: in Leeds, Newcastle-on-Tyne, Hartlepool, Hull, Preston, Sheffield and York.

As I said, contact me for further information. :-)

If you are intereted in a "miracle" cure for migraines, perhaps I can help!

I suffer from migraines fairly often, particularly occular migraines. However, I read a book by Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj, in which he identifies a brilliant method of reducing the frequency and intensity of migraines - and many other health problems.

It is simply water. Migraines are often the result of dehydration. Lack of water effects vital organs, including the brain. Simply drinking a couple of pints of water will often end a migraine within a few minutes. Better still, make sure you drink plenty of water each day (about a couple of litres). This should prevent the migraine in the first place.

Sorry that this wasn't the answer you were looking for, but please try it out. I am sure it will help.

Hey. I'm 28.. I've also suffered from migraines for as long as I can remember.. Have you been able to identify some of your "triggers" ?..

Some of mine are caffeine, sugar substitutes, lack of sleep, change in weather, stress, milk, avacados, too many carbs... additives and perservitives..

I have found that working out, drinking water and eating more natural foods helps alot..
