my personal opinion is that the bible is not real, i'm not saying what it preaches is wrong but the fundamentals i believe to be manufactured. As a scientist i fail to see the ratinality. However it sounds to me you have some faith, i advise you seek help from your local church.

I'm not sure about the bible or any other holy book for that matter. I'm sceptical about so called prophets who were 'chosen' by God to write down his words. You don't need a book. It might point you in a particular direction and certain laws or commandments might give you something to give you a kick start (eg. some of the 10 commandments are just common sense and decency), the rest will be found within yourself. I think everyone is born with this inner voice or conscience, it can be buried under alot of junk though. Clear the clutter and take time out. The bible is fine for those who want it but it's fine also to have your faith without it. There's stuff in there that just isnt relevant anymore. It's only the old patriarchs in the main faiths that stubbornly hang on to it's every word otherwise they're out of a job arent they, certainly lose more control over minds and what we should or shouldnt be thinking. You will know yourself. If you're serious about it.

You obviously have some specific questions regarding truths in the Bible. You need to join with someone you trust and knows the Word so that they can show and explain the areas that cause you to question.
I can assure you that the Bible is very real and as you begin to study and understand, then God will answer your prayer. Yes, he will answer your prayer, but YOU must also take a step of faith and becin to receive.
let me say one thing that may enlighten you. if you've been on Y! Answers for any length of time, or for that matter, if you've been alive for any length of time, you will notice that the most attacked religion in the world is Christianity. Society as a whole is not attacking Allah, Buddah, Mohamad, or any others. Why do you suppose that is? Its is because they are not a threat to Satan and his world. Chistrianity and the Bible are very real. No country attacks another country who is not a threat to them.
Think about that.

I went through that 4 years ago. I refused to believe in God or the Bible. But God wouldn't take no for an answer. Thank God, I wouldn't be with him now otherwise. I now know it is true about Jesus. I still struggle to get inspiration from the Bible. i do believe it but I feel like there is a veil over my soul when I read it sometimes. I think the translations aren't very good and I still struggle with it but thank God, it is something that is breaking.
I really reccommend reading Philip Yancey. He is very realistic. He lost faith for many years and writes in a way that I really connected with when I had little faith.

hmm.. easy answer...
existence of God is mistic, its called faith cause we belive he does exist, although it is sometimes hard to prove, but prove can be found if you just "open your eyes".
i assume you might doubt cause of "da vinci code" etc. well ive read it all, i know the thing long before even the book been published and i still belive in God and read bible, i aslo belive in reinkarnation what is buddhist thing, but i just belive in the thing i can explain,
so dont worry that you are not sure if this what is in bible is true or not, look at the world true your eyes, and mind, try to understand it, close your eyes , and concentrate, try to feel God, if you suddenly start smiling , than surely he is somethere there...
and about Bible it is hard to say if all what we read in bible is true as there is a lot of translations and often one translations translete very diffrenty from others, its is your choice what you accept, the point is to live by the rules of the bible, this is for what you will be judged by God, he will ask you if you fallowed Law of Bible not which one. its not your fault you got wrong one ....

If you read parts of the Bible, many great men of faith had periods in their lives when God seemed distant. The psalms are full of David crying out to God to rescue him and asking Him where He is in his hour of need. Maybe your faith is being tested. Ask someone you trust to pray with you, someone who gets words or pictures from God. When I was in a slump God gave me a scripture verse through my pastor who prayed for me, and it made me come to life all over again....just what I needed to hear. I'm in a period of waiting right now, too. My marriage is rocky, my husband has left the church, my job isn't doing great and we have no money, but I've kept on believing that things will get better because the bible promises good things for those who stay strong to the end. The answers you are looking for may well come in a way you weren't expecting, God loves to surprise us. Keep yourself open to answered prayers so you will recognise them when they come. The Bible is the Word of God, keep reading it and reminding God of His promises, and remember things will improve in His time and His way, for your benefit.

go to a church that belives the Bible. Ask a minister or elder to help you. They will pray with you.
You don't get any answer because God doens't need to PROVE anything.
We live by faith.
Read John chapter 1. This will help you.
Then continue to read the rest of the Bible.
Whenever you have doubts -and we all go through it -I'm no exception - just pray for God to help you with your doubts. Not to PROVE anything to you.
If you need further help you can contact me by clicking on my handle "help me 1" and then the computer will take you to a page where you can write me.

Bro we've all been there, at least I have. I spent days and weeks and months asking God to do something to show me that he is real. I would sometimes spend hours a day in prayer because I really wanted to know God and experience the closeness that other people seemed to have with HIm. And it seemed that He either wasn't listening or wasn't there. Then somehow I figured out what I was doing wrong, my problem wasn't that I was searching for God, or how I was searching but it was why I was searching. I wasn't searching for Him to worship or praise Him, I I was looking to benefit me, I wanted what he would could do for me rather than what I could do for him. Well let me say that its hard to change motives, but I vowed I would try my best, I began earnestly studying the bible and doing whatever service I could at my church, setting tables, cleaning dishes, watching kids, showing up early to heIp prepare for services, mean anything and I of course continued to pray asking God to reveal himself to me. One Glorious day (15 December 2005 at 3:05 PM EST) I was studying about Peter and I began to earnestly thank God for the example of Peters life, how he denied Christ (as I had) but through the Power of the Holy Spirit, became the leader of the early church. In the midst of the prayer God revealed himself to me, the experience is indescribable, I felt such joy that I thought I might die, I knew... not believed,.. Knew that God was real, that he had heard my prayers. Since then I have volunteered more, worshipped more, and prayed more, all with an increased power and faith in the Lord Jesus. I would say to you don't stop seeking. He will reveal Himself to you when the time is right. I can promise you that it is well worth the wait to experience the presence of the Creator of the Universe and your Savior. I Will also pray for God to reveal himself to you. God Bless

Four billion people in the world (75%) don't believe in the Bible. You're in very good company.
My advice is to consider this not a crisis but an opportunity. Start reading other holy books and secular books. Stay on this site and get information about other religions and other belief systems. Stay positive and stay proud. You will find your own truth in the end.

Study and pray and go to church is the primary things. However, I found "The Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel, a very good book to help explain and reinforce my beliefs.
In case you are not familiar with Lee Strobel, he was an athiest journalist that went to prove God was false. He ended up converting to Christianity because of his investigations. He also has two other books that are equally as good "The Case for Christ" and "The Case for the Creator".

Belief isn't enough. You need to know the creator of the universe. Obviously you believe in God which is great, what about Jesus? So you struggle with the rest of te bible at the moment that isn't the problem. Your life is more important than trying to prove the Bible is true. But if you believe in Jesus and that he died on the cross for you then that's the coolest place to start. If youn want to chat contact me and I can explain more about Jesus for you.
