Love is a fickle thing sometimes. So is trust. But you're way ahead of the game, you've already done step one- if they can dance to step 2, close your heart back up and give it to someone who's got their arms open. Someone just waiting for you, And
there IS someone out there that is.

P.S. Great matching avatar for the question..

Although you are opening up your hart you may be closing your mind on how long it takes for a human hart to mend if you been with this person a long time and you opened up your to a male i can relate to that the suspicion doesn't fade, It just about probably feels like what you would feel like getting hit by a truck moving 100 miles a hour so if its any thing like what I have experienced it will take time if it doesn't drive you apart put your feet in their shoes for a while see how the situation makes you feel, but I believe everything can be worked out

a million dollar question if ever there was one.
everybody is not the same some people will elated if someone opens up their heart.
but then you get the person that would run a mile it is called committment phoebic.
However the people that are afraid to accept is the people that never deserved it to begin with.

Because they are afraid they might get hurt, all you have to do is to convince who ever you want to open your heart to and I think He or She will accept it.

Because they may have been hurt before. Or possibly the fact that they don't open up as easily as a general rule. You aren't very specific here.
Or it could also be they feel that you are "falling for them" and they may not feel the same way and don't want to hurt you.
