This is normal behavior for cat. I have a cat, it is 2 years old too, and sometimes it does such things, that you can think that it is a dog (digging my flowers, hiding food) or a bird (flying from lustre to sofa) or a fish (lying in the bath with a little water). Sometimes it acts like a bear (sleeping all day long :) ) or mustang (running for hours from room to room). Also it likes to act like a human, comes and mewls to every my word. So whatever you think your cat is it will be true :)

Huh no...My 12 cats all had fins and gills before age 2..Not to say they was swimming like crazy in my 12 foot fish tank! You might need to get your cat to the vet asap!

This is completely normal, I have 3 cats at home that do the same thing. I also have a dog that grew wings and a beak, he fly's up and sits on the edge of the cat/fish tank trying to catch them with his beak. It is fun to watch!

This may be OK in your fish tank, but I don't think the neighbours will like it in their fish pond, keep a close eye on that cat.
