Sawadee - kha :) i would definetley say pattaya on the main island it has stunning beaches and many things to see and do ( jet skiing, zipwiring off an 80 floor building n stuff)
I would reccommend you stay in the cabbages and condoms hotel as it only cost us £450 for 4 people all inclusive in a 2 bedroom high class apartment for four nights, the grounds are stunning and it has an enfinety swimming pool so it looks like your going to swim into the sea,
the only bad thing about it is the cloudy sea water :(

Definitely Ko Phi Phi - an amazing island when Travellers meet, exchange stories and chill out completely. Quirky bars, good eateries and fantastic snorkeling/diving. If you have seen the film, The Beach, it is the island next door where they filmed it !
Also, visit Phang Nga Bay where you can visit 'James Bond Island (filmed Man with the Golden Gun) which is pretty cool.

sawadee cap try ko pen yang (i havent spelt it right)you will have a blast at the full moon partys.ko chang is cool for a chill out and peaceful and quiet,living in a beach hut a stone throw away BLISS.

there is Dive and Kayaking, detect caves & tunnels below the mystical Island of Angthong Marine Park. crew excursion boats. Siam Kitchen, Lamai sea coast- cooking type. Angthong nationwide Marine geological formation.Rock Bar-Lamai sea coast. Chaweng sea coast,, Kol Samui- Sa-ards Water activities.

As far as islands go, you've got:
Ko tao - great for diving/snorkeling
Ko Phi Phi - very beautiful but also plenty to do.
Ko Lanta - lovely big island. fairly peaceful, lots of resorts and choice of accommodation.
Ko Chang is also popular but I haven't been there.

give phuket a try
its on the opposite coast (andaman sea) which was hit by the tsnami i was there last oct and is almost back to normal
many locals say that the wave 'washed' all the beaches and the sand is incredibly white now
lasses are great too

Went to phuket in march this year great place 3 weeks of pure joy!

Go to Phuket and you can head for more islands from there. It is the staging place to Phang-nga and Krabi too.
