Yes, it's absolutely OK. There are many more people in that condition than you might expect.
Some people recommend shooting left-handed, which can be difficult. Others recommend closing your left eye, but that limits your peripheral vision. Another method is to simply move your gun so your left eye does the aiming, but that takes lots of practice.
The most commonly used technique is to place a small piece of black tape on the left lens of your shooting glasses (you do use them, don't you?) right where you focus. That blocks the left eye's view of the target, so you automatically switch to the right eye. After a few weeks of doing this, you will probably find yourself using the right eye automatically, and your problem is solved.

Sounds like you got the same problem my brother does...left eye dominant but right handed.
You basically could either deal with it and make your right eye stronger... or you could shoot with a left handed gun...or bow, which can take alot of getting used to.
Either way will take some getting used to...
I'm right handed and right eye dominant, so it's no trouble for me...but I do shoot with both eye's open and I shoot much more accurate when using both eyes...this would be a problem for you though to use both eyes since the left eye will take over and through off your sight...

unless you are firing your hand gun to win points for hitting targets - then it doesn't really matter much. Most hand guns are not designed to hit anything at a distance anyway they are designed for killing and that is usually from where you are standing to the nearest doorway. So. if you can hit a person sized target at about 12 feet, you're good. Also just the fact that you are holding a gun is usually enough, without firing it you can accomplish anything you aim to - no pun intended.

You are left eye dominant. Try switching to left-handed. I had to learn that way. Or, use an eye patch, over your left eye. You can even act like a pirate!!!!

I found it to be very inconvenient, practice hard and target with BOTH eyes. I became a very very good shot when I learned to use both eyes.

no it is not a good thing. first you need to learn yourself how to close your left eye (unless you are blind) regardless then you need to look at the shell discharge port. is it close to your face when it discharges?plus, you will be more steady holding the weapon.
