There is a God, and the world is a stage for God to reveal his plan, and triumph over evil.

Through rebellion and sin, mankind suffers. No blame can be placed on God.

God did not "wash his hands" of mankind, - he sent his OWN son to die. That certainly does not sound trivial !!

God's job, (in the christian sense anyway) is not about control, causing or preventing disasters, natural or manmade or about blame when things go wrong or how we wanted things to turn out. Nature governs most things, but God or whoever also gave us free will. God does not sit back and think ah serves him/her right, got his just desserts, if that were the case then bad things wouldnt happen to good people. God gives you the strength to carry on as best you can, gives you comfort when you need to 'talk' to someone through prayer or any other method that makes you feel less alone, it's a sense of being carried when you think you can't cope, offers some peace of mind when you unclutter your mind and start listening from deep within.

God is only powerful when you believe. If you don't believe what is there to fear, only your fellow man, and yes more scary than any god. You can believe for the right reasons or the wrong reasons. Suffering is manmade, suffering is also nature (earthquakes, floods etc), the spiritual is his domain. But these two, material and spiritual cannot be separated, they are when we're dead though, when the body that sustains us for survival returns to the earth. In many respects we need to blame an almighty for our own sanity. Very few of us will ever accept total responsibility. When a child has done something naughty it's nearly always 'teddy did it'. When we grow up God did it. I don't think for a moment that God washes his hands of mankind, it might seem that way, but he's not a magician with a box of tricks. For you alone when you need it there is comfort and peace, that's his job. It's not the whys and wherefores but just simply come to me, let me hold you. If any of this makes sense!

We, as mankind have a free will, period. This free will was given to us by God. We permit the suffering. We cause it, cultivate it, and in some cases, die for it. Within that free will, we also have to choice to accept his son as our savior, and to save us from our sins - which by the way, is why there is so much suffering.

This question has been asked on here numerous times, but is probably the one of the most deserving questions to be asked. You have to remember, that even though there is a lot of suffering, there is still a lot of good, as well. Why does he allow that?

God isn't wrong, nor can he be blamed for the world's troubles. This world is a product of our own lusts, greed, envy, jealousy and even hate. You ask why God permits it? If he told you to stop doing whatever it is that you are not supposed to be doing, would you stop doing it? If you want to see the suffering stop, then give your life to him.

Sure, God can stop the suffering, but it would mean taking control of our lives himself, and how many people, even on here want God to control their lives? Not many, I assure you. There are a lot of people it would seem that would take the suffering of the world, and still keep the lives that they have, as long as the suffering isn't directed towards them.

Look on this time on Earth as school.....to learn things. Have you ever noticed that those that suffer have more understanding and compassion. We were also given free will so that we can make our own choices....sometimes they are bad choices and sometimes they are good. I don't think God has washed his hands on mankind although if he did I wouldn't be surprised..2006 and we are still destroying ths planet and each other...nothing much has changed there then!

If there is no God, then who is permitting the suffering? It is like asking, "if you are there why you child fell down and got hurt?"

God is there dear friend. He allows suffering and pain in our lives with specific purposes. Only those who know God can follow His intentions and discover His purposes. God has given us freedom to make choices in our life situations. From the beginning mankind has chosen ways that distance them from their Creator. The farther we are the darker our lives become. In the lives of those who know God, even the sufferings that He permits make sense and brings fulfillment. Jesus is the example in enduring suffering to achieve God's purpose. God gives special grace to those whom He permits to go through sufferings. Above all, they will have His comforting presence always with them.

The Bible says, "We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us--they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. (Romans 5:3-4)

If there is no God..who brought you here? You believe in Big bang theory or that humans are from apes by Darwin? The very existence of God should not be questioned just look around. God's creation are everywhere. For your question why He allows suffering for us to learn from our mistakes as the bible states book of Romans " All things work together for good for those who love God".It is our sins that causes us to fall from his hands not him who wash us out. John 3:16 "FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE US HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE". God bless!

If he exists and didnt permit suffering then he would be taking our freedom. We would be no more than caged animals, could we really take that kind confinement?

God could have given up, but maybe he wasnt there in the first place, it depends on your definition of god. Maybe the creator of the universe cannot interfere, maybe god doesnt have that kind of power.

but Ill go for "no" as my answer.

You are God of your own universe. Only you can choose to help others get thru their suffering. Divinity is not on the outside but within each of us. Saying that God allowed this or the Devil made me do it is just looking for a scapegoat.

How many time have u personally sin.

So what you reap is what u sow

Suffering is the equivalent of evil as GOD IS TO LOVE - HAPPINESS.

Remember that God loves u despite u turning your back on him.

Allow God in your hearth no Devil and next u will be asking "Why People Not Following Gods Path"
