Is it a legal requirement to have caravan insurance to tow it on the roads, I know to repalce it etc you need insurance but just to tow an old van for one weekend a year is it worth it, other than to be legal on the roads.

i always assumed, that whilst it was attached to your car, your car insurance covered it! Same with horsebox or trailer. Check your car insurance policy. I HOPE I AM IN THE RIGHT HERE!!

I would check with your local police department and if you bring it to another state i would call there Department of motor vehicles they would be able to answer the question best. On a flatbed trailer i don't see a problem with it but on a car dolly or a solid tow bar you might have to have it registered and insured

you want to substantiate that your automobile coverage covers you for towing, some do not. If yours is taken under consideration one of them then by employing towing your caravan you should be using without coverage. If it does you would possibly want to need added cover for harm to the caravan if an coincidence is your fault. living house coverage ought to no longer cover contents of the caravan both.

Yes - Check out your Car Insurance policy - It might be included but there again - it might not

Anyway having a separate policy for your caravan might cover contents also
