I recently had to have my wonderful 14 1/2 year old dog put down. She was a great friend, and also she was my husband's constant companion. My husband died 4 years ago and I've had signs from him that he's still around me. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are together again. Your horse is going to a better place. He will be healthy and happy again.

Nope. When ya die you become dirt. There is no horsey heaven or horsey hell. The bible doesn't speak of horses specifically but if we are Gods greatest of all creation and we don't get to go rompin' around in open fields of clover and alphalpha..then I'm pretty sure our equistrian counterparts do not as well..though it helps to picture it. I don't mean to make light of your situation because I've had to make that decision myself..however, though I believe my dog of 13 years was still happy and still loved and knew me..I also knew that she suffered andit was only going to get worse..and as well, I was beginning to resent how much trouble she was becoming. I loved that dog and she was great. However, she belonged to God before she belonged to me and I'm sure that since He knows where every sparrow falls then my Riley might be made a perfect creation and companion in the new world at the resurrection..where the wolf will lay down with the lamb. So ya know..animals will be there..they just might not be the inbred monstrocities that we've caused to be born..who knows really. At that point and time..who would know to care? Every tear or sorrow will be gone. I hope this helps a little..really I don't mean to belittle your feelings but the truth is...the Bible never speaks of an afterlife...for anyone, not until the resurrection. The Bible calls death a sleep over 50 times. Even Jesus called it that. So...anyhoo...that's all I have to say...love in Christ, ~J~ <><

so sorry to hear about your horse
i am a spiritualist and we truly believe that life goes on after death even for animals
to put your animal down to take away the pain and misery he is suffering has got to be in my eyes the kindest act of love anyone can do for an animal
please don't feel guilt but remember why you are doing this and what would come of the poor soul if you couldn't or didn't do it
please know that only out of love are you doing this and that one day you will be together again xxx
love to you xx

We have a friend that is a medium and she said our son that passed away rode up on a horse when we saw her for a reading. So I would say there is an afterlife for horses, that or he caught the only one up there(just kidding).Your horse will be there waiting for you when you get there.

I know there is a Heaven and hell, I know unless you accept Jesus you will not go to Heaven, I also know there are animals in heaven and horses are mentioned numerous times, have a look in the bible, many angels and Jesus himself ride on horses and I am sure your horse will go to heaven and possibly ridden by angels or saints.I am sorry for your loss and I pray you will find comfort knowing he will go to a better place where there is no pain.

you say its the hardest decision you have ever "made" . you must believe in your heart already that an afterlife exisits. if the horse has to be put down , its better than watch it suffer. good person you u. :)

If there is an afterlife for us then there will be an afterlife for the ones that we love. That is true. I believe that with all my heart. If my dog doesn't go then I am not going either.

Jesus knows that we love our precious pets, no matter what they are, be it dog, cat, horse mouse etc...those animals are accountable to Him, & they shall be a part of our future in Heaven, provided that YOU have a relationship with Christ Jesus!
Take heart dear one, the pain your horse is enduring for his love of you, will soon end and then what awesome joy you will have when he will see your smiling face in Heaven.

I believe that if humans have "souls" then so do animals. I hope to see my doggie after I die or I am coming back!!!
Animals are people too.
