Yes. Church is so full of hyprocrites and liars. Everyone dresses nice to impress everyone else and hide their true selves behind their suits and dresses. What you wear is not what should be judged, it should be your actions, and whether you are in church for the right reason. Go in and pray and worship God, regardless of what everyone else is calling you. What you do behind closed doors is your true self, forget the hypcrites. I'm not anti-Church, just anti-hypocracy.

Church Slippers

Why are you wearing slippers? If it is because they are comfortable on sore or swollen feet, then this is as good a reason as I can think of. The door to the house of God should be open for people like this to attend without fear of something being said.
I have picked up people and taken them to church right after hip or knee surgery. Their mobility is limited and they can get into slippers easier than the other shoes that they have.
If it is because you have only the slippers to wear and all your other shoes are worn out, then that is another good reason to come in slippers.
If you wish to be a part of the grunge look, that is a reason why you should consider wearing something else.
One other reason that it may not work in the winter with all the snow. Generally, they have a cloth upper and your feet will get cold if you have to walk in a lot of snow to get to church.

I guess it depends on what church you go to. Some churches are more conservative and you will see the people there in dresses and 3-piece suits. Other churches are more laid-back and have the come as you are attitude. At our church lots of people wear flip-flops since it is really warm right now.

If you are visiting a particular church for the first time, I would recommend you err on the conservative side.

God looks at heart.

Matthew 23:27 - "Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within they are full of dead men's bones and all uncleanness.

Matthew 23:26 - You blind Pharisee! first cleanse the inside of the cup and of the plate, that the outside also may be clean

Hebrews 8:10 - This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put my laws into their minds, and write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

Sure. If that's all you can escape with out of the mental ward..try to nab a robe too if you can..those open backed nighties are drafty..then you go ahead on to church...just be sure to shuffle so ya don't make too much noise walking down the pew rows. Love in Christ, ~J~ <><

Be respectful woman. Where do you think you're going? to the beach? Wear proper attire and humble yourself before God. If you're thinking about what to wear then you're not going there for the right reasons. just keep your dignity and don't go, it's better that way. But if you're going, then pay proper attention and respect the house of God.

No unless there is no other choice. God is beautiful and admires beauty. So when we want to go a place earmarked for His worship we should try to make good use of things He has blessed us with and this will also improve overall environment for others as well.
