Adobe Photoshop is excellent and you can try a free 30 day trial through adobe.com. It's expensive to buy but it can be bought through adobe.com, at any store that sells softwear, or Best Buy does sell it as well. For free trial: http://www.adobe.com/
Adobe has several different programs including some other photo editing ones that you can try out on the free 30 day trials and offers free tutorials as well. Photoshop is what most graphic designers use and has tons of features. Hope this helps.

Picasa is free download available from the link I've given below.

For a Professional, the Adobe Suite is better, but it's very pricey.

My suggestion is that you use Picasa and, when you outgrow it, think about Adobe Photo Shop.

For a start, Picasa is quite more than enough.

This should resolve your issue.

Cheers.

There are many good free (simple) ones but Adobe Photoshop is the one used by most professionals.

You can look here for many, some FREE, some trial. This site is www.cnet.com , a site you can trust.
the direct link to graphic software (first page) is:

My best bet is Adobe's Photoshop
But Corel Draw 12, Macro Media's Freehand & Fireworks are just as good.
Try them. There are free trial versions of them all.

Adobe Photoshop is my choice.

There's a free one called GIMP that's apparently quite good.
