Why don't catholics accept that Mary will be judged just like everyone else?Yes, she was blessed and held in great favour by God.But she was a HUMAN BEING. Prayer is only reserved for God.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate catholics.I don't trust their religion and there teachings.To me its to similar to mythical religions.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

This whole "co mediatrix" or 'Co redeemer" is an idea and a term created by non-Catholic sources criticizing the Catholic Church. It has never been any kind of dogma or official teaching. As far as prayer to the Virgin (or any of the Saints either) compare it to asking someone at church to pray for you because your sick or whatever. I've often heard Protestant fundamentalist Christians do this. Now if you can ask joe-schmo to remember you in his prayers, what is so strange about asking God's mom to do likewise? P.S. Catholics believe Mary was born w/o original sin and did not sin in her lifetime. So as far as Judgment goes, she's not exactly in the same boat as we are. P.P.S. I don't mean to offend, but Bible literalists believe in some very mythical sounding stuff. (talking snakes , fish swallowing people who live , Revelation creatures!) PAX

You do know that it is between the most over-requested questions we get proper? We answer this question numerous situations an afternoon and if I see it more advantageous than 3 situations an afternoon, i do not answer because what's the use? no individual looks to work out that little icon that pops up and says "Wait! we ought to already have the answer you're searching for!" i'm not uncomfortable about this education in any respect. we are not worshipping the Saints or Mary. we are purely asking them to intercede our prayers for us. that's like asking a chum to wish for you once you're dealing with a tough time. you're asking the chum to wish for you, not worshipping the chum. there's a diverse vast difference between worshipping and honoring. We believe that the Saints and Mary are in heaven, alongside with our loved ones. So what extra valuable people to intercede our prayers for us. about the verse that you shared, you probably did not examine the finished element. The 4 verses previous it says,"first of all, then, i encourage that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all men, for kings and all who're in extreme positions, that we may lead on a quiet and non violent life, godly and respectful in each way. it is nice, and tasty to God our Savior, who desires all men to be kept and to go back to the know-how of the reality." Intercessory prayers on behalf of others are "good and tasty to God." you also misunderstand Christ being human's mediator. he's extremely unique because he's the in common words individual to be both God and guy. for this reason he's the in common words one which bridges both jointly. Christ is the mediator of the hot Covenant purely as Moses replaced into the mediator of the old Covenant.

Catholics believe that for Jesus to have been born without original sin, then Mary would have to have been born without the possibility of passing on a sin nature to any of her offspring. Catholics believe in The Assumption of Mary - because she was the Mother of Jesus, that Jesus, upon Mary's death, brought her, body and soul, into Heaven. Mary's place in Heaven is to intercede for those who faithfully follow the Catholic Church. A Catholic friend of mine said that, to pray to Mary, is to simply ask her to intercede for you, just as you might ask a friend or a minister or priest, here on earth, to pray for you and intercede for you. Mary is regarded with great respect, and a model of obedience.

"It has never been any kind of dogma or official teaching. "

"Membership in the Militia means complete dedication to the Kingdom of God and to the salvation of souls through Mary Immaculate." -Pope John Paul II

"We have an advocate in Mary that the father, Son, and Holy Spirit cannot say no to. It is impossible for them to say no to her! -Fr. Stephan Scheier

Pope John Paull II has 'dedicated himself and his Pontificate to Our Lady.' He bears the letter "M" for Mary in his coat of arms. And his personal motto, which is embroidered on the side of his robes in Latin is the following: "TOTUS TUUS SUM MARIA", which in English translates to: "MARY, I'M ALL YOURS."

For those that think the "Totus Tuus Sum Maria" is a fictitious proclamation of Pope John Paul II, see this excerpt from a Los Angeles Times News Article.

"By awarding the Virgin a central place in the cathedral's narrative, the archdiocese is keeping faith with a long, if fluctuating, Catholic and Orthodox tradition of devotion to Our Lady, a tradition enjoying a resurgence under Pope John Paul II. (The pope's personal motto, "Totus tuus sum, Maria," or "I am all yours, Mary," reflects his belief that the Virgin intervened to save his life from an assassin's bullet in 1981 so that he could help defeat European communism.)" -LATIMES.com Sept 1, 2002 By REED JOHNSON, Times Staff Writer
