Sadly, many use the issue of suffering as an excuse to reject any thought of God, when its existence is the very reason we should accept Him. Suffering stands as terrible testimony to the truth of the explanation given by the Word of God. But how can we know that the Bible is true? Simply by studying the prophecies of Matthew 24, Luke 21, and 2 Timothy 3. A few minutes of openhearted inspection will convince any honest skeptic that this is no ordinary book. It is the supernatural testament of our Creator about why there is suffering...and what we can do about it.
The Bible tells us that God cursed the earth because of Adam’s transgression. Weeds are a curse. So is disease. Sin and suffering cannot be separated. The Scriptures inform us that we live in a fallen creation. In the beginning, God created man perfect, and he lived in a perfect world without suffering. It was heaven on earth. When sin came into the world, death and misery came with it. Those who understand the message of Holy Scripture eagerly await a new heaven and a new earth "wherein dwells righteous-ness." In that coming Kingdom there will be no more pain, suffering, disease, or death. We are told that no eye has ever seen, nor has any ear heard, neither has any man’s mind ever imagined the wonderful things that God has in store for those who love Him (1 Corinthians 2:9).
Think for a moment what it would be like if food grew with the fervor of weeds. Consider how wonderful it would be if the deserts became incredibly fertile, if creation stopped devouring humanity. Imagine if the weather worked for us instead of against us, if disease completely disappeared, if pain was a thing of the past, if death was no more.
The dilemma is that we are like a child whose insatiable appetite for chocolate has caused his face to break out with ugly sores. He looks in the mirror and sees a sight that makes him depressed. But instead of giving up his beloved chocolate, he consoles himself by stuffing more into his mouth. Yet, the source of his pleasure is actually the cause of his suffering. The whole face of the earth is nothing but ugly sores of suffering. Everywhere we look we see unspeakable pain. But instead of believing God’s explanation and asking Him to forgive us and change our appetite, we run deeper into sin’s sweet embrace. There we find solace in its temporal pleasures, thus intensifying our pain, both in this life and in the life to come.

In the past year I’ve seen a lot of religious imbeciles and hypocrites, and the thought of spending eternity with them would be horrific. On top of that, I’ve spent quite a bit of time recently contemplating Christianity. For one thing, why would God be male? Women give birth and thus make more sense as an ultimate creator. Being male also entails having male sex organs; why would God need genitals if He’s the only god and, being all-powerful, He can presumably make things without help (and is thus asexual). The only reason the Bible would need to say God is male would be to make women second-class. Basing a religion on misogyny is definitely not something I can get behind.
For another thing, there’s the whole question of heaven and hell. Basing someone’s status for the rest of time on maybe 80 years on Earth does not sound like the supposedly all-knowing, all-powerful, loving god Christians claim Him to be. If He knows everything, then He knows whether a person deserves eternal punishment or eternal happiness before they are born. And if He knows a person’s eternal status before their creation, then He creates people to burn in hell, which means He is not a caring, loving god. And if He does not know how badly a person will ‘sin’ before they draw their first breath, then He is not all-knowing. Basing someone’s afterlife on their choices in life means people actually have a choice, which means He is not all-powerful. And that means the Christian God is not a god at all, but the results of thousands of years of hypocrisy, cruelty, and the taint of human power struggles. Religion is a crutch for those terrified of death and responsibility – those who need to blame God for their own faults and mistakes (and thank Him occasionally to avoid accusations of hypocrisy) and those who think a half-century of adulthood isn’t nearly enough time to accomplish their goals, that infinity sounds like a much better work schedule. Christianity also says that daughters can be sold into slavery, sons can be cursed for laughing at their drunk, naked fathers, and children in general can be killed for insolence. It also says that Jesus, who supposedly came from the Middle East, was white.
Based on my own reasoning (which my parents and evolution gave me), I have come to realize that there is no god. I have also realized that this is not a problem because I do not fear death – I am always prepared and early for things, so I can accomplish plenty of things in my time on Earth – and I do my best to claim responsibility for my failures and my successes. Being atheist does not devalue my life, nor does it make me a bad person. I realize that I’m being a bit unfair in dismissing all religions simply because Christianity is flawed, but most religions have had a jihad of some sort and, even if they were simply the victims, that’s something I’d prefer not to get tangled up in.

Dear Lane,
Its illogical to say that there is not any God. It has been proven scientifically. The Quran is the MOST SCIENTIFIC religious scripture available on the face of earth. Not a single scientific statement mentioned in the Quran has been proven to be scientifically wrong. I CHALLENGE you to point out a single mistake to me in the whole Quran. But there is a part of Qura'n which has not been proven scientifically correct, neither it has been proven to be wrong. This part is ambiguous.
Suppose 80% of all that is mentioned in the Qur’an has been proven 100% correct. About the remaining 20%, science makes no categorical statement, since it has not advanced to a level, where it can either prove or disprove these statements. With the limited knowledge that we have, we cannot say for sure whether even a single percentage or a single verse of the Qur’an from this 20% portion is wrong. Thus when 80% of the Qur’an is 100% correct and the remaining 20% is not disproved, my logic says that even the 20% portion is correct. So the concept of belief in one God falls in that 20%.
Suppose there is an UNKNOWN OBJECT which no one in the world has ever seen. I ask u to tell me the first person who will be able to explain the mechanism of that unknown object??? Manufacturer, Producer, Creator.. right? Qura'n tells us that Every living thing has been created from water. Quran told us this 1400 years ago. Science has gotten to know it just yesterday.
Quran says that the light of moon is the reflected light. Quran told this 1400 yrs back. Who could have written it??
Quran describes the water cycle in great detail.... Who could have mentioned it in the Quran fourteen hundred yrs back?
It gives us EXACT shape of an embryo during its early stages. Quran says embryo is a leech like substance, something which clings. It has been proven by science today that embryo and leech have a striking resemblance.
Qura'n explains the circulation of blood which was first discovered by Ibn-al-Nafees during 13th century. But Quran mentioned it before him. Who could have mentioned it?????????????????? tell me..
Quran gives us the exact GEO-SPHERICAL shape of the earth. Quran was revealed 1400 yrs back. Who could hv mentioned it in the Quran 1400 yrs back.????
Is it possible for a human being to mention all the scientific facts mentioned in the Quran?? more than a 1000 verses in Quran speak about science, out of which not a SINGLE VERSE has been proven to be wrong.
Do u know about the theory of probability?
Lets apply this theory to the Quran. If you do this, answer would be ZER0000.
Albert Einstein has right said, "Religion without science is blind and science without religion is lame".
If you can just give me the answer that who could have mentioned all these and various other facts and prophecies in the Quran 1400 yrs back other than God (Allah), then i will agree with u. Allah says in surah Anbiya, Ch:21:
"Will you not then believe?"
Quran is asking you the question. It wants reply. You are seeing the signs of Allah, yet you do not accept them.

Do you really mean that if there is God we will not suffer? Or God makes us suffer? That means God give everything to man & also He causes them to suffer?

The truth is: nobody knows. Sure, a lot of people spout this philosophy or that or this religion or that or no religion at all. In an honest person's heart of hearts, he must admit that he cannot be certain. One thing is certain, though. If there is a God, then he intends for us to struggle with the question of his existence and his nature.

Why Should I believe in God?
If you cant see God then why do people believe in him? Is he just made up, and if not how do we know he exists? These are all valid questions when thinking about God. So why should I believe in God?
Fault of nature or perfect design?
Have you ever thought about how possible it is for you to exist? Lets take a look at the theory of evolution. So first, science claims, there was a big bang between two particles that released enormous amounts of energy spawning life. First of all, I would like to point out that the big bang theory gives us evidence that there must be a God. Where did those first two particles, which started the universe, come from ? Even if valid explanations are made we know that you cant make something from nothing. You cannot make a complex bridge without materials such as concrete and steel and without a design that makes it possible for the bridge to bear massive loads of weight. Now think about the theory of evolution. If a building, house, bridge or even something as simple as a cabinet requires a design or blueprint so that it is created properly, how much harder would it be for the world to be created by evolution without a design or designer (God)? If a builder decides to add on extra roofing or a second garage to his house without referring to the design first, he will probably get it wrong. Look at how perfect our bodies are. Two hands to grip objects with, eyes that can see, even a nose that can smell. I don't believe that a world that started with a big bang would manage to produce complex humans with deep emotions and physical emotions. In fact, I think humans would turn out horribly wrong! And why are there so many unfit and obese people today? According to evolution and survival of the fittest they should have been killed of a long time ago.
To me evolution cant explain why someone would look attractive or why we would even exist. The world is so complex that I believe it couldn't be a fluke. It tells us in the bible that God gave us creation so that we would have to believe he exists!
For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities his eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. (Romans 1:20)
It not only says he made creation, but he made us as well.
So God created man in his own image...male and female he created them. (Genesis 1: 27)
But still the question remains- I cant see God, how do I know he exists? Well, how de we know the wind even exists? We can see it, we cant grab it and hold it in our hands. Yet we can feel it blowing against us and we can see it blowing in the trees. This is like God. Sure, we cant see him, but we can feel him change our lives when we submit to him. The bible tells us of the holy spirit, which is Gods way of being with us and working good through our lives;
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14: 26)
The holy Spirit is Gods way of teaching us, comforting us and being with us. God reveals himself to us through the changing of our heart and attitudes and little occurrences which are out of the ordinary.
It still may be hard to go against the theory of evolution that we are taught all our lives and believe in a higher power, but this is where faith come into play. We need to trust that there is a God and believe he made you for a purpose. This leads me to my final point. It would be hard to put our trust in a God that just exists and does not want to have anything to do with us. The bible says that God created us and loves us heaps, not matter who we are or what we have done. Gods love is the kind that is unconditional.
A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. (John 13:34)
He loves us and wants a relationship with us and it is because of this love that we exist. It is awesome to know that God who is so powerful that he made the world loves us and wants to know us and can protect us!

God is the only "thing" that is REAL........
God is HOW you are able to BE you.
The idea that you are alone is an illusion.
God is HOW you are able to recognize yourself in the mirror or reflection when you cannot see your own face.
Your body is WHAT you are IN, not WHO you are.
God is LOVE.
Have you ever felt LOVE?
