Werther's Original

If it counts, my Grandmother would bring Pez sticks and refills over from the US when she'd visit us in Spain. And Flinstones shaped vitamin tablets. Mmmmm.

Gosh! Fox's boiled sweets: multicolored in those twisted clear wrappers! Mmmmm.

All I got from my Grandfather was a letter he sent to me with answers to questions about his service in the Second World War. I had to interview him for school and he told me all about being a SeeBee in the Pacific. I recall no sweets in the envelope.

Thanks for bringing back the memories!

Well is wasn't a wether's original!

It was a Fox's clear peppermint or glacier mint. It was great had it whilst waiting in the airport lounge. It had a picture of a polar bear on top the sweet on the front of the packet.

In a rather poor upbringing, my Grandfather bought me a dozen kites, seeing how I used to make kites at home with newspapers etc.and never succeed.

That small token of joy I have troughout my life, whenever I see a kite. In later years I developed a skill for kites, and here in India, we a kite festival, which the young-old participate. On this days
Grandfather's memory floods in.Year after year.

I think the answer you want is....

"I remember them well, the wrapper was gold and shiny and their name... WERTHERS ORIGINAL".

Other than that if you want true facts, both my grandfathers had died before I was born so I didn't have the opportunity to receive sweets from them although I remember sitting at the kitchen table at my nana's eating those silver balls you put on cakes!!!

Never even had a chance to know him. By the time I was born he was already dead, how I wish he was there to give me that first sweet.
