Am off on vacation to Thailand, Pattaya & Bangkok, any suggestion what is the best one can see and shop there ?

Chiangmai sucks, it's a completely unuseful countryside city, better go to the beach after Pattaya.

It's super cheap to go places other then Pattaya & Bangkok. Chiang Mai is gorgeous and Phuket area has incredible beaches. Shopping in BKK is great and I'm a guy! Shopping malls have similar overpriced stuff as the western hemisphere. Street vendors can tailor clothes that don't fit on the spot and everything is cheap. Only accept half the price they first give you.

You should try to get into group travel if you don't know where to start. Some do try to take advantage of "lost" tourists if you come alone. I'm Thai. There are mainly ancient temples, boatrides, natural parks with water falls or night safaris, busy nightclubs, modern department stores with hightech gadgets, roadside night shopping with cheap clothing or 2nd hand products at Chatuchak Market which is an extremely popular tourist attractions. Have fun!

good country to visit i was born in Bangkok Thailand 21 years ago. i don't have much to say about it except for it's a beautiful country and wonderful culture pretty similar to mines which is cambodian

i suggest you to go shopping at JJ market. it's easy to get there as there. you can buy everything there in a cheap price. Everything! but you gotta deal with the dead heat there as it's non air con shops n it's very crowded. or try MBK. it's nice there but stuff is a lil expensive.

in bangkok
MBK shopping center, can be reach by taking the train.
during weekend try Chatucha Market, take train to "MoChi" station. itz juz a stone throw away from that station.
alot of stuff to buy from this weekend market. from foods, clothing to pets.

Eat, the food is cheap and good. But be careful of hygiene if you are trying roadside stalls.
Visit the ancient palace, temples.
Buy leather goods, silk, cashew nuts, imitation goods are cheap and plenty.
