I would think the same reason we do...After eating some people get a messy face and the dogs are the same...I have 3 dogs and they also clean their feet like a cat...

Hasn't someone else just asked this question . . . does it bother you asking questions you already know the anwers to? I wish the people in this section would simply learn the basics of dog management and behaviour before they purchase their animal. It would save such a huge amount of ludicrously stupid questions being asked. I'm off now. I am just finding this section a bit depressing at the moment. Like watching Supernanny. There are good questions sometimes in the arts and humanities category about books and authors.

They do? My dogs must be unhygenic then...they never wash their faces and get all sorts of stuff in their whiskers that I unfortunately must clean out. My cat on the otherhand washes herself, including her face, after she does anything: eating, napping, playing, whatever...she's a little overhygenic if you ask me :p
