Yes there is a double standard that shouldn't exist. The Islamic religion is not to fault though, a religion gives short and small guidelines to the process of marriage were the culture really determines the official process. Even in Christianity, the Bible never gives a step by step directions on what to do for marriage and weddings but our culture has created it. The Bible hints that if you were to marry that you should marry someone of your religion so it would be able to work out. Just think how the Anglican Church started, King Henry VIII wanted to devorce his wife, and yes this religion is Christian. The law should be changed so a double standard doesnt stay

First answer: The man doesn't have to. If the girl would not have him without him converting to be a Muslim, he cannot do anything. Ultimately it's her choice.
Second answer: My view is that because the Muslim administrator forgets that in Koran states" The're is no compulsion in Religion". Just take it that.
Third Question: Nope. He/She may marry anyone. It's their choice. But you do have to remember in Islam a girl has got to get her father's blessing before she can get marry.
Oh man...actually, there's no short answer to all this.

It is not any different then some of the christian sects. Non-catholics (M&F) must convert if they are to marry a catholic in the catholic church, etc.
It saddens me to see soo many people bashing Muslim when Christianity is guilty of the same offenses.
Both have thier doublestandards, the thing to remember is that religion is merely the means people used to control other people. You know politics...
It is not that freedom of religion is a hoax, but because so many religions say the same thing..then turn around and say "I am right, you are wrong" how can you freely choose w/o fear of persecution?

Nothing is forced in Islam. If you do not want to do than do not do. But if you want to be a real believer do what Allah says us to do and search for what it is asked us to do...
It is not allowed for a muslim girl to a non-muslim boy. It is not desired for a muslim boy to get married a non-muslim girl who believes in God. He should do that only when the conditions force him to do...

One of the basic ideas in Islam is that everyone should be Muslim and anyone who isn't is just basically scum and doesn't deserve to live. That is an ugly and crude answer, but another day dawns that again shows me Islam as the ultimate enemy of civilisation.
