Are you monitoring your calorie intake? Simply taking a weight gainer won't make you gain weight unless you consume more calories than you burn.

Lifting weights will help, but you want to keep that to a minimum. It sort of sounds like your metabolism is already cranked up and therefore by exercising you are encouraging your body to use more calories. You definitely also want to keep cardio activities to a minimum too.

To gain weight, I'd start monitoring your calories. Use http://www.fitday.com to keep a daily tally. Try to consume 250 - 500 more calories than you burn in a typical day. The weight will come on slowly and not as fat (which would be bad).

Also, you should be eating fairly constantly. Skipping meals, breakfast, or going long periods without food will stunt your metabolism.

You have a fast metabolism. Nothing you can do but bulk up in order to gain weight. That means eat that stuff and weight lift.
