I think the hike is not enough to solve the demand and supply problem. 1) there are still lots of people taking cab
2) The cab driver still has to work long hrs and come out with ways to hide and wait for bookings to earn the little extra so as to earn enough to take home. this will lead to other danger on the road.
In some country like HK, you can find cab everywhere and everytime. That is because their cab fare is very expensive. So, only those who need to take cab or are rich enough to take cab will pay for it. Than, there will be enough cab to supply to everyone who dont mind paying and the cab driver can work less to get enough money. this will solve alot of problems..........As for those who are always complaining about cab fare being expensive or make such a big fuss over $1.00, pls take the MRT.

Actually I do not care much. I take the bus and MRT. If I need to take cab, make sure I can claim back if for office work.
