Perfectly normal. Try carrying around a small stroller one that is easy to fold and easy to put in your car. When she isn't in it, let her push. Chances are she'll think she's helping and will stay by your side. Best bet is to keep her in some sort of stroller when you are in a busy enviroment for several different safety purposes. If she wants to walk have her "help" Mommy by pushing. This should keep her attention long enough to keep her safe. Good luck!

Continue to hold her hand. At that age, she does not have the ability to know that she is in danger if she runs ahead or away from you. You can practice having her walk next to you for short distances when you are in a safe environment. Praise her for being a big girl when she walks alongside you. If she does't stay alongside you, then tell her when she is bigger you'll let go of her hand. Bottom line is even if she tantrums, you still need to do what ever will keep her safe. She'll learn as she gets a little older.

I used to have this problem, too. First, practice at home. Set up some rules. "Let's pretend we're at the store. This is how we walk..." Give lots of praise for good behavior. At the mall/store, bring a stroller along. Have her walk next to you, holding her hand. Remind her how you did it at home. If she lets and go and runs away, get her and put her in her stroller. Explain to her that it is dangerous to run away, that she could get lost. If she can't hold your hand, she'll have to stay in the stroller. After a few minutes, take her out and see if she's ready to do it again. If she runs away, put her back in the stroller. This may take a few tries but eventually, she'll get it.

This is normal behavior for a 2 year old! She will grow out of this within a couple of years! In the meantime you might want to get a leash that you can attach to the back of her overalls so that she cannot get away from you when your attention gets diverted! If you don't like that idea then you will have to keep hold of her, carry her, or keep her in a stroller or shopping cart when you are out and about! Good luck!

Some more info reqd. are you sure that kidis not having any silent problem of pain, etc in her leg? Is she doing it with everybody? Does she walk herself completely as two year old should do? So if the answer is she is absolutely fine and walks well; herself then I dont think you need to worry but incase not then please visit doctor immediately

normal there's a big world waiting to be seen ... why don't you explain that you'll scurry and run wherever she wants but she has to hold your hand and but from time to time she has to do what you want to do.... we always had a game a small short string looped on her wrist and yours if she doesn't break she gets a treat..
