you can tell by the look in his eyes... the way he speaks to you... the way he acts around you... what he does for you...
that's how you can tell if he loves you, not whether or not he says "i love you" or not

try going out in a group instead of just both of you..Love coverages is wide..crossing roads,caring,daily activity,parental issues,participations,etc.
now you need a overall view to clearly define your love for each other.it might turn up to be puppy love ending.

You overthink things too much. Your damn lucky he tells you he loves you. Stop overanalyzing things and enjoy the time you have with him.
