Well ma'am, :)

The difference is that in the Middle East, people have no freedom or anything (Think Saudi Arabia and its Wahabbi line of thought).

Governments in the Middle East spread hate and fear. (From Saudi Arabia , to US buddies Jordan (where a lot of women are killed each year in so-called "honor killings", and Egypt (another typical Arab wicked dictatorship).

The clerics, with government approval are extremists themselves and try to spread their line of thought.

In Saudi Arabia, for example, the Saudi King claims and uses the title of "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques" which refers to Mekka and Medina (The Holiest sites in Islam).

He also has the title of King and Ruler.
The thing is though, the Saudi Monarchy and its Regime, have nothing to do with Islam. They're actually destroying many Muslim sites to make way for malls and parking lots.

In Egypt, Christians are very Persecuted against and the Regime always sends out its police forces to arrest Minorities.

All in all, there are NO Islamic governments in the Middle East or anywhere. (Even though they claim to be Islamic).

Also, all Arab nations have a thing in common, which is that they are either All Dictatorships,Totalitarian Regimes, Authoritarian Regimes, or simply Wicked Regimes.

And they all have one thing in common which is that they Hate Minorities (Especially Shiites and Christians).

Infact, Shiites are treated as Subhuman scum in all Arab and Non-Arab Muslim nations and Christians are treated as Second Class citizens.

By the way, in places like close US buddy Bahrain, the Shiites are the Majority but have no rights and are persecuted against. (As they were in Iraq under Saddam).
The same is true wherever Shiites are the majority.
Its also true where they are a minority group of people.
The Shiite people, actually, have no rights in All and Any Muslim nation be it Arab or Non Arab.

The same can be said about Jews and Christians in all Muslim nations be they Arab or Non Arab. :)

These are the reasons why the USA needs to stop appeasing these Regimes and Demand Change, Reform, Human Rights and Democracy!

Which will Never take place in the Middle East without US and other International Pressure!

Islam Religion in America is free of in-fighting and persecution of the different sects of the Islam religion. It is a safe place to practice their religion. As there is different types of Islamic religious creeds and beliefs, just as there are different types of Christian religions... but there is peacful harmony here in their practice. In Iraq, it is not really a "religious war" as it is a political war, that uses the two different waring parties being based upon the two different main types of Islamic religious beliefs... fighting each other. The Islamic Qu'ran is the same in all Islamic religions, it is how the different Islamic sects interpertrate the messages in the Qu'ran that makes the difference in their beliefs and religions. This is led by the "priest' of the Islamic sects.

I was going to come up with an answer, but then it's so hard to have a difference between here and there when there's really no here in the first place. We Americans truly suffer from ignorance in the great religion we call Islam.

Main difference I see is how Muslims can follow their religion here vs when they are in middle east.
Other than that, no difference.

Islam is one religion, for anyone who teaches true Islam, wherever it is taught.
We believe there is only one Allah and Muhammad pbuh is his messenger
