I've only had FWB's so far since no guy asks me out on a date. So far only 2 of them have worked out ok since one of the two is really really good at sex and he actually listens to me and is a good friend too. The other one is really nice and actually cuddles and treats me like a girlfriend even though we're just friends.
The key to a good FWB relationship is remembering that you're friends first, the benefits come later.

The friend with benefits can only work if you have nothing in common except physical attraction.
I've had a couple in my time. And that is all there is to it. Just know, that there is no "working out" to be had. Once you are in a relationship (or vice versa) it's over.
the only benefit to FWB, is that you have someone you can call on for sexual gratification. But there is no emotional involvment.
good luck!
