he says his family is very poor and wants to come to USA to work, he is a medical assistant, he does not know how to go about it and asked me to send him some info/documents that would help get him a work visa, and get him started on a move...any suggestions?

There are billions of people in the world who would benefit from the opportunities they could have in the US. There is no "work visa" such as you are asking about. if your friend has internet access, he is far wealthier than 90% of his countrymen. Tell him sorry, you can't help him, and find friends who don't want anything from you.

As said before it's not a good idea to help him. If he's poor then why's he on the internet? there's poor people here not on the net so imagine poor people there.

actually if i was in your place id be careful... people arent that great on the net. make sure you dont give too much of you personal information on the web... i assure you no one is truely poor they only choose to be. there are ways to get support in any nation if they have the desire. BECAREFUL!!!
